Links
Links are the core of FAVORO - the bookmarks you want to access quickly and easily.
Adding Links
Manual Entry
- Navigate to the area and section where you want to add the link
- Click the + Link button in the section
- Enter the link label (a short, descriptive name)
- Enter the URL
- Click Save
Using the Bookmarklet
For faster link saving, install the bookmarklet. With one click, you can add any page you're viewing to FAVORO.
Link Properties
Each link has two main properties:
Label
The display name for your link. Keep it short and descriptive:
- Good: "GitHub", "Slack", "Project Docs"
- Less Good: "https://github.com", "My Company's Slack Workspace"
URL
The web address the link points to. This must be a valid URL starting with http:// or https://.
Managing Links
Editing a Link
- Hover over the link
- Click the edit icon (pencil)
- Update the label or URL
- Click Save
Moving Links
Drag and drop links to reorder them within a section or move them to different sections:
- Click and hold the link
- Drag to the desired position (same or different section)
- Release to drop
Deleting a Link
- Hover over the link
- Click the delete icon (trash)
- Confirm the deletion
Opening Links
Click any link to open it in your current tab. The link launcher (Cmd+K or Ctrl+K) is often faster for finding and opening links.
Link Display
Links display in a clean, grid-like layout showing:
- The link label (primary text)
- The domain of the URL (secondary text)
This makes it easy to scan and identify links quickly.
Tips for Better Links
Use Consistent Naming
Develop a naming convention for your links. For example:
- Use official product names ("Slack" not "Chat App")
- Be specific ("Staging Server" not "Server")
- Keep it short (2-3 words maximum)
Direct Links
When possible, link directly to the page you need, not just the homepage:
- Link to your specific Slack workspace
- Link to your project's GitHub repo, not github.com
- Link to the specific dashboard you check daily
Regular Cleanup
Periodically review your links and remove ones you no longer use. This keeps your workspace clean and makes important links easier to find.
Search Tips
Use the link launcher (Cmd+K / Ctrl+K) to quickly find links:
- Search by label: "slack", "github"
- Search by URL: "notion.so", "figma"
- Partial matches work: "git" will find "GitHub"
